Galesburg, IL – The 2nd Annual K Club Golf Outing, hosted by the Knox College athletic department at Soangetaha Country Club, was a big hit with the participants.
The event raised nearly $8,000 for Knox athletics. All funds will go towards helping to give Prairie Fire student-athletes a better experience.
"This sold out event brought together former players, boosters and alumni. They all got a chance to reminisce with Coach Knosher and that is always a great time,” said assistant athletic director Harold Watson. “It really is a great event and I hope that next year we are able to have two sessions.”
More than 16 teams participated in the outing and 70 people attended. Event supporters also included Galesburg Orthopedics, Nancy Carlin ’72, and Burgland Drug.
The winning team of Ryan Cannady ‘98, Rob Middleton ‘98, Andrew Warwick ‘07, and Chad Eisele ’93 shot an adjusted score of 47.30 to take home the trophy. The outing was played in a four-man scramble format.
The team of Jeff Ancelet ’98, Ed Frey ’96, and Dana Vig ’96 had the best net score of the day with a 56.
The 3rd Annual K Club Golf Outing will be held June 21, 2013 at Soangetaha.
