Galesburg, Ill. – A Prairie Fire men's swimmer is the recipient of an honor from the Midwest Conference for his big day at a dual meet last weekend.
Sophomore
Chris Walsh (Boulder, CO, Shining Mountain Waldorf School) won a season-best three events for Knox at Illinois Institute of Technology on December 14. He placed first in the 50 yard freestyle, the 50 yard breaststroke, and the 100 yard breaststroke races.
Walsh is the latest Midwest Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week for his efforts.
Walsh, who placed seventh in the 100 backstroke at last year's MWC Championships, has won a team-high seven individual events so far this season.
"Chris has been swimming well and it was nice to see him rise to the occasion against some good competition at IIT," swimming coach Jonathan Powers said.

Walsh is the second Prairie Fire swimmer to win the weekly award from the conference this season. First-year
Madeline Bruce (Dunlap, IL, Dunlap) was named the MWC Women's Swimmng and Diving Performer of the Week on November 5.
The Knox swim teams compete next at the Eureka College Sprint Meet on January 11.
