Galesburg, IL – A men’s tennis player’s perfect week is being recognized by the Midwest Conference.

Senior David Ham (Lakewood, WA, Shadow Ridge) won both of his singles matches in convincing fashion to help the Prairie Fire post a pair of team victories last week.  He’s been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week for his efforts.

Ham defeated his #2 singles opponent from Eureka College 6-0, 6-0 on April 5 at Eureka.  He followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win in #4 singles against fellow Midwest Conference South Division member Illinois College on April 6 at Monmouth College.

Ham has won three straight singles matches and 10 overall this season.

Knox defeated both Eureka and IC 9-0 to run its winning streak to three in a row.  The team goes for its fourth consecutive victory and second in league play on April 13 against Cornell College in Dubuque, Iowa.

Ham is the second Prairie Fire men’s tennis player to be named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week this season.  SophomoreWalter Palmer (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) also received the honor on February 19, the first for the Knox men’s tennis program since 2008.
