2013 Men's Soccer Season Preview

8/26/2013 6:04:00 PM

The Prairie Fire men's soccer team expects to continue getting better in 2013 following the best season in more than a decade.

Coach Matt Edwards led Knox to six victories in 2012, the most wins in 13 years, in his first season with the Prairie Fire. The team returns 13 players from last year, including nearly all of the starters, and 10 newcomers join the squad this season.

"Obviously we made some strides in the right direction in 2012, so to improve on those achievements is going to be a great challenge," Edwards said. "If you look back to last season, we lost too many games by the odd goal, and we have to develop our concentration and resilience to turn those games in our favor."

The Prairie Fire open the new season against nationally ranked DePauw University at home on August 31 at 3:00 p.m.
