Galesburg, IL – A new athletic year at Knox College brings with it a new golf coach who has a track record of success.

K.C. Harding is beginning his first season leading the Prairie Fire women's and men's golf programs after nearly four years at Carl Sandburg College as the men's golf coach.  He's also the assistant golf professional at Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg.

Harding led the Chargers to the 2010 Arrowhead Conference championship, the first in school history.  His teams at CSC finished as the Region IV Tournament runner-up in 2009, 2010, and 2012 and earned trips to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

The Chargers placed 17th at nationals in 2010 and 14th in 2011.

In addition, Harding produced 18 out of a possible 20 all-region players, 14 out of a possible 15 all-conference players, and coached the school's only NJCAA Division II Ping All-American player.

Harding will work to make the Prairie Fire golf teams annual contenders for the Midwest Conference title.

The Knox men's team has won 29 MWC championships, the last one in 2008.  No other school owns more than 12 league titles.  The Knox women's squad won its fourth and most recent Midwest Conference championship in 2001.
