A new head coach and two veteran players will lead the way for the Prairie Fire women's tennis team during the upcoming season.
Former NCAA Division III tennis standout Miriam Skrade heads the Knox tennis program this season after most recently coaching the Ames High School boy's team to an Iowa state championship and two second place finishes.
Seniors Charlotte Garvin and Dana Pierce return for the Prairie Fire after combining for 19 regular season wins in singles play last season. "They will be exceptional assets to the team in both leadership and tennis ability," Skrade said. Knox welcomes back five players and seven newcomers.
"As a team we will look to be in top physical and mental shape, enhance our consistency, and grow in our offensive strategies," added Skrade.
