River Forest, IL – The Prairie Fire kept their winning streak alive by defeating Concordia University Chicago 4-3 on a goal in overtime on Wednesday.

Knox (4-1) picked up a fourth straight victory when sophomore Abdulsalam Oganla (Lagos, Nigeria, The International Academy), playing for the first time this season, snapped a 3-3 tie with the winning goal at the 95:22 mark.  Sophomore Nathaniel Logie (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Queens Royal College) assisted on the score.

The Prairie Fire overcame a 3-2 deficit on a goal by first-year Yuta Saitoh (Tokyo, Japan, Life Christian School) off of a corner kick by senior Maxwell Gatyas (Plymouth, WI, Plymouth Comprehensive) to force a 3-3 tie with about ten minutes remaining in regulation.

Knox struck first against Concordia (3-2) 11:48 into the contest.  Logie gave the Fire a 1-0 lead with his fifth goal of the season, assisted by Saitoh.  The Cougars drew even at 1-1 with a score at 21:45.

Concordia took its first lead at 2-1 less than two minutes later and maintained the slim advantage at the break.

The Prairie Fire evened the score at 2-2 on Logie's second goal of the afternoon at the 54:24 mark.  The Cougars answered back 41 seconds later to reclaim the lead at 3-2, which was followed by Saitoh's tying score and the goal by Oganla that sent Knox home happy.

The Prairie Fire outshot Concordia 29-9 overall (11-6 on goal) and 3-0 in the extra session.

Knox goalie Sean Dockrell (Dublin, Ireland, San Bernadino CC) recorded three saves in his fourth win between the pipes.

The back-and-forth, physical match featured a combined 29 fouls and five yellow cards.

The win for the Prairie Fire against Concordia is impressive following the Cougars' 3-0 victory on the road against Midwest Conference member Ripon College on September 8.

Knox goes for a fifth consecutive victory at home in a non-conference match against Iowa Wesleyan College (0-2) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  The Tigers were outscored 14-1 in their two losses.
