MACOMB, Illinois—The Prairie Fire track and field teams competed at Western Illinois University's Lee Calhoun Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Knox placed ninth out of eleven teams on both the men's and women's sides.

Val Varanese placed seventh in the women's 100 meter dash with a time of 12.54 narrowly missing out on beating her own record time in the event. She also finished with a time of 27.13 in the women's 200 meter dash, good for number nine on the Knox individual list.

Frances Larsen won the women's 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:52.83 good for the third best Knox performance ever.

Malik Hamilton finished with a time of 11.13 in the men's 100 meter dash, the sixth best individual time at Knox.

Njoh Malafa finished with a time of 22.45 in the men's 200 meter dash, the sixth best individual time at Knox.
Â
Brennan McGlauchlen threw the hammer 144' 5", good for sixth place and the ninth best throw in Knox history.

Knox travels to the University of Dubuque on April 23.
