DUBUQUE, Iowa—The Prairie Fire track and field teams competed at the Dubuque Invitational over the weekend.

The men's team finished in seventh place out of ten teams with 39 points, while the women placed eighth out of ten with 28 points.

Brennan McGlauchlen (Inver Grove Heights, MN, Simley) set a new Knox record in the men's hammer throw with a toss of 151 feet 6 inches.

Malik Hamilton (Chicago, IL, Lane Tech) finished in sixth place in the men's 100 meter dash with a time of 11.38. He also took fifth place in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 23.14.

Njoh Malafa (Flint, MI, Powers) placed third in the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 23.02. He also finished in fifth place in the men's 400 meter dash with a time of 51.62

Zachary Barnes (Milpitas, CA, Milpitas) placed fifth in the men's 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.33, the third best Knox performance ever.

Brian Cole (Warson Woods, MO, Webster Groves) finished in second place in the men's 5000 meter run with a time of 16:20.62.

Val Varanese (Fountain Hills, AZ, BASIS Scottsdale) placed second in the women's 100 meter dash with a time of 12.54, yet another top-10 all-time performance at Knox for her in the event. She also took fourth place in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 26.38, good for number two on the all-time performance list at Knox.
