Annette Andresen O'Donnelly '82 put together a record-breaking career in cross country and track and field at Knox. She still holds school records in outdoor track and field.
O'Donnelly was a four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track and field. Her time of 18:35.90 in the women's 5,000m in outdoor track and field is still the top performance in school history and was good enough to be a Pre-Olympic qualifier. O'Donnelly also appears on the top-10 individual list in the women's outdoor 1,500m and 10,000m. She was the 1981 Midwest Conference Champion in cross country (20:45) and ran in the Nationals meet in Idaho that fall.
Additionally, O'Donnelly won the Michel Loomis Award in 1982, which is awarded to the student-athlete on a women's team selected as the, "outstanding performer in an individual sport", in a given year.
Her teammates remember O'Donnelly's dedication, integrity, and compassion.
After graduating at the top of her class at Knox and attending law school, O'Donnelly went on to a long and successful career as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). She currently serves as an investigator for Los Angeles County.
I am honored to welcome Annette Andresen O’Donnelly into the Knox-Lombard Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2021.
