Attending a small high school in
Wisconsin, Beth Conant was given the choice to play boy’s golf or not play golf at all. She chose to play with the boys, and the competition seemed to pay off.
Beth graduated from Knox in 2002, after a successful career on the Prairie Fire golf team. She led the Prairie Fire to three conference titles and a Division III NCAA tournament appearance. She also qualified individually for a combined Division II/ Division III NCAA tournament her freshman year.
Beth was a four year letter-winner and Most Valuable Player, as well as being named captain her junior and senior years. She finished second at the Midwest Conference tournament in 1998, and finished third in 2000 and 2001. Although there was no conference title in 1999, the Prairie Fire qualified for the National Tournament after having been one of two teams selected from Region 3. A national committee selected two teams from each of the five regions.
After graduation from Knox, Beth went to work for Hook A Kid on Golf, a non-profit youth golf organization helping kids in inner city Chicago pick up golf to keep active and out of trouble. Missing her family, she moved back to northern Wisconsin to work for her father's marketing company, North Star Marketing, where she is now an account executive.
