Dorothy "DJ" (Ambrogi) Todt '05 rewrote the record books for Prairie Fire softball in the early 2000's with a dominant career in the pitching circle.

Todt earned a career ERA of 2.67 for the softball team, a school record. She also set the career mark in strikeouts (280). Her career is even more impressive in that she basically did something unique each season, including establishing the single-season record in ERA (1.53) during her first year. She set the single season record in strikeouts during her junior year and earned First Team All-Midwest Conference South Division honors during her senior year. Todt was named Most Valuable Defensive Player by her teammates during her senior season.

"I coached at Knox for 15 years and DJ was hands down the best pitcher," said former head softball coach Kathy Wagoner. "She had exceptional pitch speed combined with a great rise ball and good change up. She was a fabulous person to coach as she worked hard and was a student of her craft."

On top of her success on the field, Todt also took advantage of the Knox College education. She earned Academic All-Midwest Conference honors in 2003, 2004, and 2005. First-year students were not eligible for Academic All-Conference honors when Todt attended Knox. She was also named to the Scholar Athletes Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) in 2003 and 2004.

Todt was selected to the Rush University early identification program and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree. She is currently a family medicine provider at UnityPoint Clinic-Family and Internal Medicine in Sioux City, Iowa.
