Born in Galesburg, Kenneth Lundeen was invited in 1947 to try out for the Chicago Cubs, but decided instead to enter Knox that fall. He was named to both offensive and defensive all-conference teams in football, and set an individual single-game scoring record (32 points) in his senior year. He also set a Knox scoring record in basketball (658 points in a three-year career), and lettered in baseball. He was awarded the Hunter Trophy in 1951. After graduating from Knox, Lundeen served in the military, then joined Illinois Bell Telephone Company and AT&T , where he worked for 32 years. He died in 1986.
