During her remarkable career as a student-athlete at Knox, Lloy Brodnicki Johnston lettered in three sports:  track, swimming, and soccer.

As a member of the Knox women's track team, Lloy set school records in the 100 and 400 meter hurdles in her first season and went on to win both events that year at the Midwest Conference meet.  Three years later, as a senior, she swept both events again and was recognized by the conference as the league's MVP.  Lloy was also invited to the NCAA Division III national championships three times in the 100 meter hurdles.

Lloy lettered all four years as a member of the women's swim team.  As a swimmer, she excelled primarily as a member of the 200 freestyle relay team.

Lloy achieved immense success on the soccer field. Simply put, she is the most decorated women's soccer player to ever compete for Knox.  Lloy was a three-year captain and three-time team MVP.  She was an All-Midwest Conference selection during the four seasons she played at Knox and was named an All-American three different times.  Lloy holds the Knox women's soccer records for most career goals (55), career points (128), and assists in a single game (5).  Former women's soccer coach, Jane Stangl says, "Without a doubt, Lloy was the finest athlete I coached while at Knox – in fact, she may be the best athlete I coached my entire coaching history."  Former Knox Athletic Director, Harley Knosher, has said, "Lloy is the personification of what we would like to see every Knox student-athlete be."  After graduating from Knox in 1994, Lloy served as the head women's soccer coach in the fall of 1995, leading the team to an 11-5 season, the best in school history, and a conference playoff appearance.
