Knox College Athletics

Murray Smith, a retired business owner and newspaper editor, competed in basketball and tennis.  In addition to his long career as editor and advertising manager of the Des Plaines Suburban Times, Smith also founded the Des Plaines Credit Bureau, served on the Des Plaines School Board and has held leadership position in numerous community service organizations. He received a Knox Alumni Achievement Award in 1968.
