A career educator, Reuben Brockmueller excelled in three varsity sports at Lombard College, where he earned four letters in football, three in basketball, and two in track. After graduating from Lombard in 1925, Brockmueller began teaching and coaching in North Dakota. He retired in 1965 as Superintendent of Schools in Elma, Washington. Brockmueller also attended graduate school at the University of Washington and Washington State University.
