A retired business owner in Knoxville, Goff set a world record in track during his senior year at Knox. His record in high hurdles stood for part of a single day, until it was broken by a University of Georgia athlete who later was a 1936 Olympic Champion. Goff still holds Knox records in 120-yard high and 220-yard low hurdles. He owned and operated Goff’s Dri-Gas in Knoxville, was elected to the Knoxville City Council and Knox County Board, and has been active in community service. He and his wife Mary, a member of the Knox class of 1936, have two daughters.
