A native of Avon, Illinois, the late Thomas Lloyd Pool participated in basketball and track at Knox earning four varsity letters in each sport. He graduated from Knox in 1928, received his medical degree from Northwestern University and earned a master’s degree in urology from the University of Minnesota, in 1938, retiring as Senior Consultant in Urology in 1970. Knox honored Pool with an Alumni Achievement Award in 1966, in recognition of his “dedicated service and important contributions to medical science.” He died May 28, 1978.
