Orlando Brown recorded the first double-double of his brief college basketball career as Knox earned its first victory, 93-76, against the Tigers on November 25 at Memorial Gymnasium.
Brown pumped in 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in handing Iowa Wesleyan its first loss of the season. A forward, Brown hit two shots during a key 10-2 run in the first two minutes of the second half to extend a 10 point halftime lead to 55-37.
The Prairie Fie built their biggest lead, 69-41, with 14:21 left in the game and were never threatened the rest of the way.
The game was the first between Knox and Iowa Wesleyan in men’s basketball in 19 years. Knox also won that previous meeting 82-70 at home.
Brown is averaging 11.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and shooting a blistering 57.1 percent. He ranks ninth in the Midwest Conference in field goal percentage and 12th in offensive rebounds per game.
