National Girls and Women in Sports Day

NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY
Sponsored by the Women’s Sports Foundation and celebrated at Knox College
Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15, 2020
Theme: Lead Her Forward

History and Information:
National Girls and Women in Sports Day is an annual observance celebrating and recognizing student-athletes, champion athletes, coaches and administrators who are committed to providing equitable access to sports for all girls and women. This year marks the 34th anniversary of #NGWSD and communities across the country will be honoring their commitment to girls and women in sport. This year’s theme is ‘Lead Her Forward’ to honor the many ways that sports push girls and women to achieve excellence and realize their boundless potential. Gather your teammates, friends, family and all the female athletes you know and bring them to Memorial Gymnasium on February 15th as we celebrate the accomplishments of girls and women athletes from the Knox and surrounding communities and lead them forward together into a bright future!

Friday, February 14th

The program will also include remarks from President Teresa Amott and Daniella Irle, Director of Athletics, both leading women in their roles at Knox College.

This is a closed event for current members of the Knox community only and is being generously supported by alumni gifts.
