Senior Jodi Marver made history last week by eclipsing the 1,000 career points mark at Monmouth College on December 3. She is only the second player in Knox women’s basketball history to achieve the milestone. Marver joins all-time leading scorer Brooke Mc Kinney, who scored 1,285 points between 1996 and 1999.
Knox head coach Emily Cline presented Marver the game ball from the Monmouth contest prior to the Prairie Fire’s home game against Lake Forest College on Saturday, December 6.
Marver averaged 19 points, drained seven 3-point baskets, and had nine steals in the games against the Fighting Scots and the Foresters. She is averaging team-highs 18.4 points and 3.6 assists, both of which rank fourth in the Midwest Conference. She’s also shooting a blistering 87.3 percent from the free throw line, the second-highest percentage in the league.
