Sophomore Robert Suntken helped lead Knox to an 89-73 victory at Blackburn College on December 16, the Prairie Fire's second straight win.
Suntken pourced in a career-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including five 3-point baskets, in the first meeting between Knox and Blackburn in men's basketball since November of 1997.
Suntken, who has scored in double-figures in seven of nine games so far, is the top scorer for Knox with an average of 13.6 points per game. He also leads the Prairie Fire in 3-point field goals (14), steals (14; #9 Midwest Conference), and free throw shooting (81.5 percent; #5 Midwest Conference). In addition, Suntken is shooting 47 percent from the floor and ranks second on the team with per game averages of 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Over his last three games – two of them Knox wins – Suntken is averaging 17.7 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting nearly 50 percent overall and 13-of-15 (86.7 percent) from the foul line.
