Knox College Prairie Fire

Sophomore Clarice Bernett set a new record in the 100 yard backstroke and helped the 200 yard freestyle relay team break another during the Midwest Conference swimming and diving championships at Grinnell College. 

Bernett finished the 100 backstroke race in 1:03.21 to top the previous Knox women’s swimming record of 1:03.67 by Tory Kassabaum in 2011.  Bernett also swam a leg on the 200 free relay team that posted a time of 1:44.73 to move ahead of the prior best of 1:45.25 from 2012.

In total, Bernett scored in seven different events for the Prairie Fire, who finished seventh in the Midwest Conference – up a spot from the 2013-14 season.
