Knox College Prairie Fire

Sophomore pitcher Alex Bell provided big a lift out of the bullpen for Knox in a 9-3 season-opening win over Robert Morris University-Springfield on March 8.

Bell retired both batters he faced in the bottom of the sixth inning after the Eagles threatened to tie the game.

Knox led 3-0 when Robert Morris scratched its first run across in the fifth followed by an RBI single with one out in the sixth.  Bell came on in relief and preserved the lead with a strikeout and a lineout, earning him the win.

The Prairie Fire put the game out of reach with six runs in the final three innings.
