Knox College Prairie Fire

The senior forward is the latest recipient of the Prairie Fire Performer of the Week Award for his effort in Knox’s 76-66 Midwest Conference victory on January 7 at Monmouth College.

Kozak scored 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including a 3-point basket in the second half that gave the Prairie Fire an 11-point lead.  He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists in the win, the Fire’s second straight in both league play and on the road against the Fighting Scots.

Kozak leads the team with averages of 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.  He’s scored in double-figures in 11 of the Prairie Fire’s 12 contests, including seven straight.  Kozak has stepped up his offensive production during that stretch of seven games, averaging 14.7 points. 

Kozak has been efficient with his point production.  He’s shooting 52 percent from the floor, which ranks 10th in the Midwest Conference.  He’s also 10th in the conference in scoring and 5th in rebounding.

A milestone is within reach for Kozak, who has 841 career points.  The Prairie Fire has 11 regular season games remaining and Kozak can become a 1,000 point scorer if he averages 14.5 points the rest of the way.
