Knox College Prairie Fire

Walenga's clutch hitting helped the Prairie Fire win the second game of a doubleheader at Illinois College on Sunday, March 25.

Walenga doubled in two runs in the top of the fourth inning against the Blueboys to give the Prairie Fire a 4-1 lead.  Knox went on to win the game 8-3 and pick up a Midwest Conference South Division victory.

Walenga was 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI in game two and 4-for-7 overall in the twinbill against IC.

A former catcher, Walenga has been playing third base this season.  The transition has been good as he has only one error this season and a fielding percentage of .978.

Offensively, Walenga began the week hitting .303 with eight runs batted in.  He’s also been a threat to run while on base with three steals, the second most on the team.
