Knox College Prairie Fire

Junior Gabe Moreno highlighted the Prairie Fire’s strong showing at the Beloit College Olde English Classic on September 29 with a second place finish out of 107 runners in a time of 26:52.

Moreno’s effort in the 8k race on the challenging course has earned him the Prairie Fire Performer of the Week Award.  His second place finish and time are the best by a Knox runner in the five decades Beloit has hosted the meet.

Moreno was one of three Prairie Fire men’s runners to finish in the top 10 and he helped his team place third overall out of nine schools.  Knox defeated Midwest Conference members Illinois College and Beloit College, bringing the number of MWC schools the Prairie Fire has beaten this season to four – including Monmouth College.
