Knox College Prairie Fire

A first-year player from Mexico City, Diego Carrillo sank six birdies and made par on 10 other holes to shoot a 4-under 67 in the second round of the UW-Stout Invite on Sept. 30. He is the first Knox golfer in 19 years to shoot a round that low. That second-day performance also vaulted him 48 places on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 14th at 3-over par, leading the Prairie Fire to a 12th-place finish in the 22-team field. He was also named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, and his 19 birdies lead the team.
