A first-year player, Darby Wallig was terrific in goal last Tuesday against Midwest Conference rival Illinois College, which entered the game with a record of 8-2-2 on the season. The native of Wendell, North Carolina, faced eight shots from the Lady Blues and saved each one, recording her first career shutout to earn the MWC Womenโ€™s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. This fall, Wallig has an .837 save percentage and a 2.26 goals against average. Those numbers are even better against the Midwest Conference with an .846 save percentage and 1.33 GAA.
