Knox College Prairie Fire

Murphy sank 15-of-15 free throws, the second-most consecutive free throws made in a game in the history of the program, and led everyone with 21 points in Knox’s 84-80 Midwest Conference victory against the Rams on December 4 at Memorial Gym. 

He also had a strong game against Beloit College four days later to earn the Prairie Fire Performer of the Week Award.

Knox defeated Cornell after the Rams beat the 2012 MWC preseason men's basketball favorite St. Norbert College 58-54 on December 1 in Mount Vernon, Iowa to begin league play.

Murphy was the top Prairie Fire scorer with 20 points, including three 3-pointers and 5-of-6 shooting at the foul line, in a 74-69 loss against Beloit (5-3, 4-1 MWC) on December 8 at home.  He made 21 consecutive free throws over three games until a miss against the Buccaneers.

Murphy is shooting 90.6 percent from the foul line, which ranks third in the Midwest Conference.  His 18.4 points per game average is fourth in the conference and he’s eighth in the league averaging 2.2 baskets per game from 3-point range.

Murphy led the Prairie Fire in scoring in four of the first five games he played in this season.
