Nayeli Nidez Acuña, a 5-10 forward from Tucson, Arizona, who earned this award at the beginning of the season as well, continued her excellent debut campaign, averaging 18.0 points in two Knox victories. First, she poured in a season-high 26 points in an 84-69 home triumph over Illinois College, hitting on 11-of-16 field goals and 4-of-5 at the foul line. Of those 26 points, 21 came in the second half to turn a halftime tie into a 15-point Prairie Fire win. At Beloit, she turned in 10 points and six rebounds with three assists and three steals as Knox cruised to an 84-48 victory. For the season, the product of Sunnyside High School is averaging 13.9 points and 6.7 rebounds a game, ranking seventh and eighth in the Midwest Conference, respectively.
