Knox College Prairie Fire

Stephanie Nelson, a sophomore from Newton, Kansas, and the daughter of Knox head coach Mark Nelson, has improved her weight throws every week since she transferred from Friends University this year, and her toss at the Jim Green Invitational was no exception. Unlike Vazquez, she saved her best for last, hurling the weight 14.16 meters (46 feet, 5.5 inches) on her sixth and final throw, a full two feet farther than her previous best. She finished fourth in the event and is a mere 1.75 inches from the Knox program record.
