Knox College Prairie Fire

Running the indoor 5000 meters for the first time in his collegiate career, Lance Miller not only won the event at the Roger Haynes Invitational hosted by Monmouth College on Saturday, he also broke the Knox record by five seconds with his time of 15:24.05. The native of Mascoutah, Illinois, now holds three Prairie Fire indoor records — the mile, 3000 meters and 5000 meters — and is second in another (800 meters). In addition, his 5000 meter time is the second fastest by any Midwest Conference runner this year. This is his second selection this year (cross country) and third of his career.
