Knox College Prairie Fire

A 5-6 infielder from Orland Park, Illinois, Maddie Poetzinger led the Prairie Fire at the plate during their 10-game spring trip in Florida, hitting .261 with a pair of doubles, two runs and two RBIs. The team co-captain collected two hits — including a double — against Gallaudet in a tough 6-4 loss, and she doubled, scored and drove in a run in another tight game versus Keene State. Entering the home opener this Sunday, Poetzinger leads the team in doubles, runs scored and walks, and she is just one of two players on the team to start all 18 games.
