At the Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1, Lance Miller not only finished second in the men’s 8K race for the second straight year, but he also shattered his own school record by more than 30 seconds. The native of Mascoutah, Illinois, tore up the trails in 24:28.7, easily surpassing the 25:00.86 he ran last year at the conference championships. Only one other runner in Prairie Fire history is within even a minute of his latest time, and just barely (25:28) a quarter century ago. Miller has the three fastest 8K times at Knox and five of the top 10.
