White had the best offensive performances of her career over a three-day stretch and is the latest recipient of the Prairie Fire Performer of the Week Award.
White played a big role in a 108-103 Knox win at Beloit College on February 9. The victory completed a sweep of the Buccaneers for the second straight season.
White was a major factor in the game with 12 points and five rebounds, which matched her top rebounding total in a game earlier this season. The Prairie Fire established a season-high for points in a game with 108, the second-highest single game total in the history of the women’s basketball program. The record is 114 points, accomplished in January of 2012 against the Buccaneers at Memorial Gym.
Knox also set a new record last week against Beloit with 52 free throw attempts, topping the previous all-time mark of 49 attempts against Beloit in the same contest the Prairie Fire broke the record for the most points scored in a game.
White nearly doubled her previous career-high with 13 points, including three baskets from 3-point range, against Monmouth College on February 6 at Memorial Gym. Her previous top scoring game was seven points earlier this season in the first meeting against Beloit at home.
White, averaging 3.6 points and 2.8 rebounds prior to the game against Monmouth, averaged 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in last week’s two games. Four of her six baskets were 3-pointers and she sank 9-of-13 free throws to boost her accuracy at the foul line this season from 51.4 to 54%.
White had never reached double-figures in back-to-back games until last week.
