Stephanie Nelson set a new program record in the hammer throw, with a personal-best distance of 47.18 meters (154 feet, nine inches) at the Monmouth Twilight on Thursday. Nelson's toss was more than eight feet better than the previous mark, which she held, and earned her a third-place finish. Nelson also finished seventh in the discus, with a best toss of 35.57 meters (116-08 feet).
