Metcalf was a major contributor as Knox defeated Eureka College 3-1 1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-15, 25-17) on September 17 at Memorial Gym.
Metcalf, a first-year hitter, had a match-high and, at the time, a season-best 13 kills with a hitting percentage of 44 percent. She also recorded a pair of service aces against the Red Devils.
One week after beating Eureka, Metcalf helped Knox win its second straight match with a new season-high 15 kills to go along with two aces and two digs on
September 24 at Illinois College.
The Prairie Fire are off to a good start in Midwest Conference play with a 1-0 record after downing the Lady Blues 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 25-20). The win is the first by Knox against IC since the 1990 season.
