Lau had perhaps his biggest moment of the season in the Prairie Fire's 1-0 win at Beloit College on October 27.
A shot he took found the back of the net, leading Knox to key victory over the Buccaneers. The Prairie Fire, with the win, clinched a berth in the 2013 Midwest Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament. Knox will make its first appearance in the tournament since 1988, also the last year the men's soccer team won the conference title.
The goal was the fifth this season for Lau, who scored on an assist by sophomore Nathaniel Logie 35:27 into the match against Beloit. Lau has started the last 14 contests and appeared in all 17 matches for Knox this season.
Lau and the Prairie Fire (13-4, 6-3 MWC) conclude regular season play on Saturday, November 2 at Midwest Conference rival Monmouth College (4-12-1, 2-7 MWC) at 1:30 p.m.
Knox joins Lake Forest College, Carroll University, and St. Norbert College in the four-team conference tournament that will be played on November 8 and 9.
The host of the tournament will be determined by the outcome of the remaining league matches to be played this week by Lake Forest and Carroll.
