Hendrick broke the Knox single-season tackles record November 5 against Monmouth College.
A junior linebacker, Hendrick, who owns four of the College's tackles records, entered the season finale against the Fighting Scots needing two tackles to break the all-time mark of 141 set in 1991 by Tracy Rodgers. He broke the record with seven tackles through the first two quarters and finished with a game-high 17 stops against Monmouth, increasing his season total to 157 tackles.
Hendrick, besides leading all of NCAA Division III football in tackles, topped the Midwest Conference by a wide margin, while also leading the league and the nation with his average of 15.7 tackles per game.
He also set the all-time tackles record in a game with 26 on September 24 at home against Beloit College. The previous record of 23 was held since 1968 by Del Camp.
The third record Hendrick set in 2011 was solo tackles in a season. He finished with 75, topping Tyler Hill’s 54 unassisted stops during the 2006 season.
In addition, Hendrick owns the record for solo tackles in a game, 14, which he had against Illinois College during the 2010 season. He also ranks second with 12, which he achieved earlier this season against Beloit College.
Hendrick holds a total of 10 all-time Top 10 football defensive records.
