First-year Alyssa Stepanian drew praise from her coach, Paul Lawrence, for the way she played and how she carried herself in the Prairie Fire's season-opening match at Millikin University on August 29.
Stepanian was a major presence on defense for Knox in the contest,
“A first-year starter as our outside back, she limited a strong attacking front line in Millikin to any clear cut opportunities,” Lawrence said of Stepanian’s performance in her college debut. “She also showed her physical presence and displayed a wonderful attitude when the team went two goals down,” he added.
The Prairie Fire resume play with matches against Carleton and Coe in the ACM Tournament September 5-7 in Northfield, Minnesota.
