Knox College Prairie Fire

Mc Caffrey had a memorable college debut on the gridiron.  He’s accounted for three touchdowns – including the game-winner – in a 26-23 Knox win over the Red Devils at home on September 6.

Trailing 23-20 with 1:25 to go in the game and the football on the Knox 10 yard line, Mc Caffrey marched the Prairie Fire down the field with his feet and his arm.  The 11-play, 90 yard drive included a 12-yard gain on the ground by Mc Caffrey and key grabs by junior wide receivers Ilir Emini and Mathew Hemmingsen.

Mc Caffrey sealed the victory with a 2-yard keeper for a touchdown as time expired, setting off celebrations on the field and in the stands.  He finished with 192 yards and two passing touchdowns to go with his winning TD run at the end.
