DE PERE, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire's season came to an end after a hard-fought loss against Lake Forest College in the Midwest Conference Championship game.
"Soccer is defined by goals, and Lake Forest are worthy tournament champions, as their goals were both timely and classy this weekend," said Knox head coach Tyler Sheikh.
Knox had a fantastic season, but a 2-1 loss to Lake Forest brought the year to a close for the Fire. The lone goal of the game came off the foot of Joe Dyer (Kansas City, MO, Oak Park), assisted by Nathaniel Logie (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Queens Royal College), in the 61st minute.
"The men will feel that it was a good, but not great, season," Sheikh noted. "However, the seniors have had great careers, and they'll graduate Knox in June with a great degree, having left an indelible mark on not just this program, but the campus."
Knox finished the season with 13 wins, 3 losses and 3 ties, taking second in the Midwest Conference and losing in the finals for the second straight season.
"In the end we came up a play short, as we responded to an even first half by dominating the field of play in the second," Sheikh concluded.
