Tough Defense Nets Draw

0-0 for Knox v. Luther

GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire played to a scoreless tie against Luther on Sunday.

Knox (7-1-2) had some good looks, managing five shots on goal to Luther's one. The Prairie Fire defense came up big, making it tough for the Norse to get many open looks and helping goalkeeper Justin Dunn (Winnetka, IL, New Trier) earn his second shutout in as many days.

"Luther were what we expected them to be: an organized, strong, and talented team that is one of the top programs in the country," said head coach Tyler Sheikh. "Our focus was good throughout the 90 minutes, and that is a requisite when you play top teams."

Sheikh added, "On the whole, each team had a few stabs at net, but I liked how we looked on a Sunday game.  We created some fine opportunities and will look to finish those types of chances when we see Ripon and Lawrence next Saturday and Sunday."

Knox will continue their stretch at home with conference games next weekend. They will play Ripon on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and Lawrence on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
