JACKSONVILLE, Illinois—The Prairie fire dropped a Midwest Conference doubleheader to Illinois College on Wednesday afternoon.

Knox (0-18, 0-6 MWC) scored first in game one with two runs in the top of the first inning. The Lady Blues answered with three runs of their own in the bottom half to take the lead. Illinois College added two more runs in the second inning. The Prairie Fire battled back with a run in the third inning, but it was all Illinois College from there on out on the way to a 12-3 win. Knox struck first again in the nightcap, but 24 unanswered runs by the Lady Blues sealed the sweep.

Kaly Davidson (Needham, MA, Needham) continued her hot hitting with four hits in six at bats. Kristen Koviekis (Tinley Park, IL, Lincoln-Way North) added a 2-for-6 performance at the plate. Alannah Sanchez (Espanola, NM, McCurdy) drove in a pair of runs, while Emily Stevenson (Tinley Park, IL, Andrew) and Chelsey Howard (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg) added an RBI apiece.

The Prairie Fire host Monmouth on April 16 in a Midwest Conference doubleheader.
