KISSIMMEE, Florida—The Prairie Fire softball team dropped a pair of games in their season openers on Wednesday.
Knox (0-2) fell 9-1 in the morning game against Westminster, but scored first in the Framingham State game before falling 7-1.
Kaly Davidson (Needham, MA, Needham) and 
Emily Stevenson (Tinley Park, IL, Andrew) each picked up two hits in five at bats. 
Chelsey Howard (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg) doubled and had the lone Prairie Fire RBI.
Saturday update:
Knox (0-4) dropped a doubleheader to Hamilton and Loras on Saturday.
Davidson had a 2-for-4 day at the plate and 
Katy Coseglia (Willowbrook, IL, Hinsdale Central) picked up two hits in six at bats for the Prairie Fire. 
Valerie Froeming (Alturas, CA, Modoc) knocked in two runs on the day.
Sunday update:
Knox (0-6) fell to Luther 16-1 and the College of Wooster 8-0 on Sunday.
Davidson, Howard, Stevenson, and 
Kyleigh Guthals (Clovis, NM, Clovis) each had a hit for the Prairie Fire.
Knox will return to Galesburg to battle MacMurray on March 24.
