MONMOUTH, Illinois - The Prairie Fire softball team dropped a doubleheader to Monmouth on Wednesday.

Knox (1-17, 0-10 MWC) scored first in game one with two runs in the first inning. The Scots quickly took control with four runs in the second inning and two more in the third. Monmouth went on to win 10-2. In game two, the Scots scored 12 runs in the first two innings and held on for the 17-2 victory.

Kristen Koviekis (Tinley Park, IL, Lincoln-Way North) and
Emily Stevenson (Tinley Park, IL, Andrew) each had three hits to lead the Prairie Fire. Stevenson drove in three runs as well.
Katy Coseglia (Willowbrook, IL, Hinsdale Central) added a 2-for-4 effort at the plate with an RBI. Stevenson, Coseglia and
Chelsey Howard (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg) each clubbed a double on the day.

Knox will return to action when they face Robert Morris-Springfield on April 14.
