AUBURNDALE, Florida—The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a game to The College of New Jersey 12-2 on Saturday morning.

Knox (2-6) allowed the Lions to score a run in the first inning, but bounced back to tie the game in the bottom half. TCNJ, who is receiving votes to be a top-25 team, would add two runs in the second and four in the third to take a 7-1 lead. The Lions would then add two more in the fifth and three in the eighth for a commanding lead. The Prairie Fire pushed across another run in the eighth, but it was not enough to extend the game.

Paul Sanders and Matt McCaffrey each bashed triples in the game with Juston Woodard and Andrew Recker each adding singles. Recker picked up an RBI, while Sanders, Woodard, and Tristyn Ruiz all swiped bags.

Knox will continue play in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational when they battle Eastern Connecticut on March 17.
