AUBURNDALE, Florida—The Prairie Fire baseball team defeated Thomas 4-3 on Monday morning to complete their spring break trip.

Knox (3-7) fell behind early when Thomas plated two in the bottom of the second inning. Brendan Powers drove in Adam Brown with a double in the top of the third and solo shots by Spencer Bauer and Brady Sember gave the Prairie Fire a 3-2 lead in the fourth inning. A double by Matt McCaffrey in the fifth scored Powers to extend the Knox lead to 4-2. Thomas added a run in the seventh, but relief pitcher Stryker Davies came in to shut the door.

Powers and Bauer each finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Powers, Bauer, McCaffrey, and Sember tallied an RBI apiece. Paul Sanders stole a pair of bases, while Powers and Bauer each nabbed a bag as well.

Trevan Lowtharp earned the win on the mound, giving up just one earned run in 6.1 innings. Davies earned the save, allowing just one hit and striking out three in 2.2 innings.

The Prairie Fire will travel to Eureka College on March 25 to continue the season.
