ROCHESTER, Minnesota—The Prairie Fire softball team dropped a pair of games in the second day of the ACM Tournament.
Knox (1-3) fell to St. Olaf 10-2 and Univ. of Dubuque 7-4.
St. Olaf scored two early runs in the 1
st but Knox responded with two runs of their own to tie the game. The game remained knotted at 2 until St. Olaf rallied to score six runs in the 3
rd. The Prairie Fire offense was held scoreless the rest of game while St. Olaf tacked on one run in both the 4
th and 5
th inning to close out a 10-2 win over the Prairie Fire.
The second game saw the Prairie Fire take on the University of Dubuque. The Prairie Fire fell behind early trailing 2-0 after two innings. However, the Fire rallied to tie the game with 2 runs in the 3
rd. The game remained tied until Dubuque was able to rally and score 5 runs in the 5
th taking a 7-2 lead. This was too much for the Prairie Fire despite getting 2 runs back in 6
th. The game ended in defeat for the Prairie Fire falling 7-4.
Katy Coseglia led the Prairie Fire in hits tallying 3 and also added 2 runs and an RBI. Kristen Koviekis added 2 hits, a run and RBI.
The Prairie Fire head to Florida for their next 8 games while competing in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic.
